Abstract
Autogenous bone is the most excellent bone graft material with ability of bone formation, bone conduction and bone induction. However, it requires another surgery for bone harvesting as donor site and it is difficult to obtain sufficient bone within intraoral region. Tooth bio material (TBM), on the other hand, gained from the extracted teeth for patient¡¯s own, could be replacement for bone grafting material through processing, since the components of the bone and teeth are substantially identical. It has many advantages compared to conventional bone grafting materials. TBM is expected to have bone induction and bone conduction ability and does not induce immune response. However, it is still difficult to obtain sufficient amount. For these reason, clinicians frequently use TBM compounded with various type of bone graft material to increase bone volume. In this case series, we analyzed bone formation capacity of TBM when mixed with
synthetic bone graft material.
